When importing stations, you need to provide both details about the station and connector specifications (or settings). There are two ways in which you can import stations into your tenant:

  • Station import offers a widget with which you can easily provide a single station's configuration.
  • CSV import enables you to import a large amount of stations at one time.

After you've successfully imported stations, they are ready to be activated and used.

Useful information

Importing stations is very straightforward, but there are a few things that are useful to know before you start.

One of the fields you must provide when importing your station is the station's security code. The field is both mandatory during import and activation. The purpose of the security code is to reduce the likelihood of a station being activated in the wrong account due to human error by adding an extra identifier to the station. 

For example, you have imported and sold two stations with similar IDs: ST1010101 and ST1001011. John has bought the first station, and Sarah the second. When activating his station, John accidentally types in "ST1001011" and successfully completes activation because the system recognizes the ID and Sarah hasn't activated her station yet. However, this results in Sarah not being able to activate her station, and solving the problem would require support that could have been avoided. This is why we have made a security code mandatory. If John had been able to provide a unique security code in addition to his station ID, the system would have shown him that he had made a mistake when entering his station ID.

The security code isn't necessarily something that is provided by the hardware manufacturer. If the hardware manufacturer hasn't provided a security code for the station, you can define it yourself. In this case, it's best to come up with a unique coding system. It's your responsibility to provide the security code to whoever is activating the station, for example, by having it printed on the station's packaging.

In some cases, stations are connected by an ethernet cable instead of WiFi. When defining the station's connectivity during station import, you can select WiFi, GSM, or both. At first glance, it appears that ethernet stations are not supported. Luckily, this isn't the case. Everon doesn't make a distinction between ethernet and WiFi connectivity, because both types operate on a local network. Therefore, if you're importing a station connected by ethernet, you can select the WiFi option under connectivity.

When creating billing plans for ethernet stations, you should make sure that the connectivity eligibility supports WiFi stations. This way, your customers are able to select a subscription when they activate their ethernet station.

Stations can have one or more connectors. If a station has multiple connectors, the specifications can either be the same or differ. For example, a station with three 1-phase connectors or a station with one 1-phase connector and one 3-phase connector. When importing stations with more than one connector, the following applies:

  • If the connectors have the same specification, you only need to import the settings once. This is then considered the connector specification that applies to all connectors on the station. Therefore, when the station is activated, the system automatically assigns these settings to all connectors present on the station.
  • If the connector settings differ, you must import them in the correct order. When the station is activated, the system maps each Connector ID with the connector settings in the order they were imported.

Note that this mapping only works if the station follows OCPP specifications for connector IDs. If not, connectors are mapped to the first specification.

Everon follows OCPI specifications to display connector information on maps, which requires power calculation to be based on phase voltage (or line-to-neutral). This affects the amount of kWh displayed on maps for a 3-phase AC connector if the voltage entered during import is based on line voltage (line-to-line). In other words, you should always enter the phase voltage when importing three-phase AC connectors to avoid the connector's power being incorrectly displayed. For 400 Volt three-phase AC connectors, you should enter 230 Volts to reflect an 11 kWh connector on maps in the platform.

Import a single station

To import a single station:

  1. Go to Stations → Management and click + Add stationsAlternatively, click + in the Dashboard.
  2. Select Import station.
  3. In Station details, provide the following information:
    • Station ID
    • Security code
    • Manufacturer
    • Article number (optional)
    • Station serial number (optional)
    • Connectivity type: WiFi, GSM, or both.
  4. Click Next.
  5. In Connectors setup, provide the connector specifications:
    1. Select a connector Standard from the drop-down.
    2. Select the supported format: Cable or Socket.
    3. Select the supported power type: Single-phase AC, Three-phase AC, or DC.
    4. Enter the supported voltage. This must be between 110V to 1000V.

      Power calculation is based on line-to-neutral (phase) voltage. If the power type is three-phase AC, always enter the phase voltage.

    5. Enter the supported amperage. This must be between 1A to 500A.

  6. Click Save connector settings.
  7. If the station has multiple connector types, click Add connector settings and enter a new form. Otherwise, click Next.
  8. Check the overview to make sure the information is correct and click Save.

When adding multiple connector types, make sure that their order matches the connector IDs specified in the hardware manual.

After you import your station, it becomes available in the Station management overview and it's ready to be activated.

Import stations in bulk

The quickest way to import a large amount of stations is to upload a CSV file.

  1. Go to Stations → Management and click + Add stations
  2. Select Upload stations.

    Alternatively, click + in the Dashboard and select Import stations CSV.

  3. Make sure your CSV file follows the format instructions provided in the widget.
  4. Click Import.
  5. Follow prompts or instructions on your device to select and upload your new CSV file.

All stations in the CSV are now available in the Station management overview, ready to be activated.

For all CSV files, the following applies:

  • All headers are mandatory and case sensitive
  • The number of rows in the CSV file may not exceed 5001 (including the header)
  • Items in the CSV file should be separated by semicolons
  • In case of a failure, only the first 100 errors are displayed
  • All values except "Article number" and “Serial number” must be entered
  • Overriding station details by importing a new CSV file only applies to inactive stations
  • Serial numbers can contain a maximum of 255 characters without spaces

For stations with multiple connector types, make sure the sequence of the rows matches the same sequence of the connector IDs as stated in the station's hardware manual.
