Customers can activate stations and cards themselves. In the case of business accounts, they can also activate stations and cards on behalf of their sub-account drivers. You can start the activation process for either of these account types, however, the account owner must always complete activation themselves.

Activating stations

  1. Go to Stations → Management in the sidebar menu.
  2. Search and click the customer's station.
  3. Click Activate station.

Alternatively, you can select Activate station and enter the Station ID and Security code manually from the following locations:

    • Dashboard and click the + icon at the bottom right.
    • Stations → Management and click + Add stations.
  4. Search and select the customer's account name under the question For whom are you activating this station?

If you are activating a station on behalf of an account or sub-account with the Account owner role, they must have completed setting up their account before you can continue. This is because the owner of an account has a direct billing relationship with the tenant, and their billing information is required to activate a card.

You can activate stations on behalf of sub-accounts with the Driver role before they have completed their account setup, as users with this role do not have a direct billing relationship with the tenant.

  5. Enter a reference if your customer wishes. This is mainly useful to quickly distinguish between stations if there are multiple present in the same account.
  6. Select the subscription that your customer wishes to apply to the station.

If your customer selects a private subscription, it is not possible for them to make their station public at a later date.

  7. Confirm the information in the overview with your customer.
  8. Click Place order.

The status of the station is automatically changed to Pending.

The account owner should receive an email containing an activation link. In the case of driver accounts, the business account to which they are associated receives the activation email.

After clicking the link, the customer is asked to log in to the platform and are automatically navigated to the location step in station activation. They must provide the address of the station, after which they are navigated to the activation overview. Here, they must read and accept the subscription terms and complete activation.

The station’s status is automatically changed to Active on completion.

Cancel a pending station activation

If you have started the activation process on behalf of a customer, but they have not yet completed activation, you can cancel it if necessary.

  1. Go to Stations → Management and filter the overview by the Pending
  2. Click the station for which you want to cancel the activation link.

If you are activating a card on behalf of an account or sub-account with the Account owner role, they must have completed setting up their account before you can continue. This is because the owner of an account has a direct billing relationship with the tenant, and their billing information is required to activate a card.

You can activate cards on behalf of sub-accounts with the Driver role before they have completed their account setup, as users with this role do not have a direct billing relationship with the tenant.

  6. Enter a reference if your customer wishes. This is mainly useful to quickly distinguish between cards if there are multiple present in the same account. The customer can edit this at anytime.
